About the Organizer

Organizing has been a life long passion for me. As a small child, I am told that I loved to sort and organize my toys. I remember reading The Berenstain Bears and The Messy Room and being so excited to sort all my toys and put them in labeled containers in my closet. I even recall coming home from college to my parents’ home and cleaning out their kitchen cabinets and closets, just for the fun of it.  I have always found the act of organizing and the outcome of a decluttered, organized (and decorated) space to be a very soothing, calming, and rewarding process. I fully believe that clutter and chaos in your home and office are a a reflection of your own inner chaos and, of course, those who share that space with you (kids, partners, etc).  And just as inner chaos may create outer chaos, the opposite is also true. Clear out clutter and create personalized systems that work for you and your family and you will create more mental space, more moments of peace, and everyone will experience improved productivity.

Shortly after having my first daughter in 2006, I decided to leave my previous career as a nutritionist to be a stay-at-home mom. For the first time in years I was spending a substantial amount of time at home, and found organizing my ever-changing, child-filled space to be not only calming during a time of great change and upheaval, but truly fun! Expecting my second daughter, I recall that sorting and organizing baby clothes and making space in closets was a great way to channel the nervous energy of awaiting another family member. It wasn’t until 2010 that I realized that this passion could actually be turned into a professional business concept, and I could become a Professional Organizer. I began helping friends and family with everything from their paper management systems, to kids’ rooms and toys, to kitchens, bedrooms, closets, and even kid’s art collections.

In the Spring of 2012 I became a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) and became owner of  Sorted Nest. As a busy mother of 2, I bring personal experience managing a busy family as well as my passion for organizing and transforming living spaces to you. The work of organizing your home is never done, and I am always learning new tricks for keeping my own home organized.  Let me sort your nest, clear your clutter, and bring a sense of calm, and order, and renewed vitality to your home and your family.
